On May 24, 2004, Five-year-old little Rawan wanted some candy from the
nearby store in Tel El-sultan, Rafah-Gaza. Her older sister agreed to accompany
her to the store. Five minutes later after the two little sisters had left
the house, the family heard bullets fire from one of the Israeli tanks.
They rushed out in fear of their daughter's lives. Sadly, it was too late.
Sweet little Rawan had been shot twice. One bullet went through her eye
and came out from the back of her head and the other bullet shattered her
litter fragile skull. Little Rawan was one day shy of her 5th birthday.
Rest in peace my sweet little Rawan, rest in peace. Your death has broken
the hearts of your family and the very few who heard about you. It is unfortunate
that the media here in the west will not mention your name and will not
show your picture because you are a Palestinian. Just as the rest of the
hundreds of little Palestinian kids who were wrongfully shot and killed
by the Israeli Army, their names and pictures did not appear in the mainstream
media.
My sweet little angel Rawan..
Your soul is so precious and sacred
You are in the image of GOD..
You are in the heart of GOD
Yet, your soul was wrongfully desecrated
because your identity is Palestinian..
You belong to a people who are demonized
in the eyes of the west
The west says it is ok for you, my little angel, to die, because
your family, neighbors and all of your people are looked upon
as "naturally violent" therefore you deserve to die
You, along with your people are destined to be at fault.
You reside in the wrong place.
Today, GOD has declared that the land of Palestine is no longer yours
Despite the thousands of years that your people inhabited it,
Despite the testimonies of the olive and cactus trees to their rightful
owners,
Today, this land is not yours.
Therefore, you must vanish from the face of the earth.
Golda Maier declared once to the world that your people never existed.
Your people and the Native Americans are both Palestinians,
You both existed for a very long time in a land that was promised for
others.
Therefore, it is ok for your little skull to be shattered by the Israeli
bullets
Just as it was ok for the Native Americans "so called barbarians"
to perish,
So the prophecy could be fulfilled.
But, don't worry my little angel, I will pray for your soul
